„ChatGPT carries out these tasks using its own virtual computer,“ OpenAI writes, „fluidly shifting between reasoning and action to handle complex workflows from start to finish, all based on your instructions.“ The feature marks OpenAI’s latest entry into what the tech industry calls „agentic AI“—systems that can take autonomous multi-step actions on behalf of the user. Tools like Auto-GPT give us a peek into the future when AGI has realized. Auto-GPT is an open-source tool initially released on GPT-3.5 and later updated to GPT-4, capable of performing tasks automatically with minimal human input. GPT-4 is currently only capable of processing requests with up to 8,192 tokens, which loosely translates to 6,144 words. OpenAI briefly allowed initial testers to run commands with up to 32,768 tokens (roughly 25,000 words or 50 pages of context), and this will be made widely available in the upcoming releases.

It’s unclear how chat history and personalized context work from that standpoint. Microsoft says people created over 200 million images with Bing Image Creator in 90 days. That means you’ll be able to create images with GPT-4 right from the chat prompt in your native language. Since then, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has claimed — at least twice — that OpenAI is not working on GPT-5. OpenAI has acknowledged some of GPT-4’s limitations such as „social biases, hallucinations, and adversarial prompts.“

Certainly, employers need to be aware of the power of these tools, how they may be useful to the organization, and where there are risks.
